On the Point

On The Point – Lake Rotorua is a privately owned 1930s homestead. Perched at the head of the Kawaha Point Peninsula, this gated five acres of meticulously groomed gardens provide you the sense of peace and tranquillity, making it hard to believe you are only 5 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

The lodge has been owned by the Main family since 1975 and was lovingly restored and opened for guests to enjoy in 2004, where it continues to host visitors from all parts of the globe. A striking union of modern versus old world charm with much of the family’s art, heirlooms, and collectibles on display throughout the lodge for guests to enjoy. Accommodation options include 10 suites situated either in the main lodge or in nearby cottages as well as the luxurious four-bedroom Lake Villa and two-bedroom Villa Apartment.

The lodge is steeped in Māori culture and history and offers amazing (spectacular) lake views over Mokoia Island.
