Capella Lodge, Lord Howe Island

Lord Howe Island

Situated in the South Pacific Ocean, around 700km north east of Sydney, Australia, Lord Howe Island is a small, breathtakingly beautiful island that has only 400 permanent residents and with visitors limited to 400 at any one time. Included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1982, the island is surrounded by a reef-fringed lagoon, rolling surf, the world’s southern-most coral reef and is home to hundreds of rare and endemic species.

Capella Lodge is Lord Howe Island’s much-loved luxury retreat, resting at the foot of the towering Mounts Gower and Lidgbird, welcoming spectacular views of the ocean, subtropical reef and mountains. Capella has nine contemporary, island-styled suites designed to reflect the island’s pristine natural environment. Refined, relaxed dining is the hallmark of a stay and the culinary team’s innovative menus showcase a bounty of fine local and regional produce. With Capella Lodge as basecamp, guests hike mountains, explore subtropical forests and discover the kaleidoscopic colour of the world’s southernmost coral reef.
